Visits To France

#1 Art and Photography Students in February 1999

#2 Houlle 2008

This summer we spent two weeks in a little out of the way place called Houlle, near St. Omer in the Pas de Calais.
The gite was excellent, the area unusual, but like much of Northern France very flat and not really a tourist attraction!
With Hilary still suffering from psoriasis we spent most of our time driving around, eating in cafes (too many frites!) and drinking.
I did manage to enjoy a lot of French TV though I struggled with the dramas.
I also spoke plenty of very bad French, but at least I did make myself understood most of the time!
The weather was also pretty boring - dull, overcast though generally dry and mild.
